Grab a map of the Margaret River region and visit the Eagles Heritage Raptor Wildlife Centre. This wonderful organisation specialises in public education and the rehabilitation of raptors and the breeding of some endangered species. During a free flight session, put on a glove and encourage a raptor to sit on your hand.
Another Margaret River wildlife attraction is the Naturaliste Reptile Park. Only opened in January 2007, this centre showcases the local Western Australian reptiles, from small salt crocodiles to frogs, to small and large snakes. The kids will love to touch the turtles or hold a python! Built by the stonemason owner, Roger, it is right next to the Carbunup General Store.
There are many Margaret River tours, from whale watching to river cruising, from wild flowers to wineries. Discover the outdoors canoeing on the Blackwood River. Take a scenic tour round Geographe Bay. There is so much to see in this spectacular natural world in the south west of Western Australia.
